There is a huge plastic waste dump site in the Pacific Ocean that is twice the size of the continental United States.

It is estimated that 10 percent of the world’s plastic waste finds its way into the sea and slowly but surely most of it ends up in the Pacific Ocean.

A campaign asking Nasty Gal to remove fur from their clothing line happened – and they did it! They were recently contacted for a written confirmation on their fur policy (in order to get them on the Humane Society’s list of Fur-Free Retailers), and their lovely marketing manager replied with the news that while they are very committed to keeping their new merchandise fur-free, some of their vintage items (which make up a small part of their business) may contain authentic fur- so shop with caution.  Personally I’m thrilled by their decision to leave real fur out of their new items, and I give them major kudos for being honest about their policy.

So, in conclusion, while my first choice is always to shop with 100% cruelty-free companies like Vaute Couture & Alternative Outfitters, if you need a fashion fix from a major retailer, I definitely encourage you to support 99% fur-free Nasty Gal (and AVOID fur-heavy stores like INTERMIX who continue to profit from the death trade).

PS- If you have a minute, send them a tweet or facebook message thanking them for ridding their shop of new furs!  They’ll definitely pay attention.

…Worth it, INTERMIX?

Of course not. The animals can’t speak for themselves- but you can. Make your voice heard here.
